THE ROLE

A hands-on accounting role supporting the Corporate Accounting function, responsible for full-cycle accounting across multiple corporate entities with a focus on financial operations, reporting, and treasury support.

•      Financial Operations & Reporting (60%)

•      Treasury & Cash Management (25%)

•      Process Improvement & Ad Hoc Work (15%)

THE TASKS

Financial Operations & Reporting

•      Own monthly close activities for assigned corporate entities including bank reconciliations, journal entries, and subledger maintenance

•      Prepare quarter-end financial working papers with quarter-over- quarter variance analysis

•      Prepare management-level quarterly reporting for assigned entities 

•      Support MD&A preparation and management reporting

•      Handle compliance requirements including HST and WSIB filings

•      Manage intercompany transactions across multiple entities

•      Support the annual audit and budget processes through timely completion of working

papers and auditor requests

Treasury & Cash Management

•      Prepare treasury backups and supporting packages for review and approval

•      Support treasury activity including EFTs, wires, and transfers

•      Settle and reconcile intercompany chargebacks

•      Complete bank reconciliations tied to treasury activity

THE OPPORTUNITY

Step into a role with broad exposure to corporate accounting across a portfolio of active entities, working closely with an experienced corporate finance team. You will own meaningful workstreams from day one, build depth in multi-entity accounting and treasury, and have the room to grow your technical skills through project work as the business evolves. THE EXPECTATIONS TIMELINE PREVIEW

By Month 1

•      Get familiar with the corporate entities, systems, and the working paper structure

•      Begin picking up monthly close tasks for assigned entities

•      Build relationships with the corporate finance team and key stakeholders

•      Understand the treasury backup and approval workflow

By Month 3

•      Independently handle recurring monthly close and reporting tasks

•      Understand your entities and stakeholders, and know who to go to with questions

•      Get into the routine of the monthly and treasury schedules

•      Complete HST/WSIB compliance filings with support

By Month 6

•      Stand on your own feet across the full monthly cycle with minimal oversight

•      Complete quarter-end working papers and variance analysis for assigned entities

•      Manage treasury backups and intercompany chargeback settlement confidently

•      Begin contributing to process improvement and project work

By Month 12

•      Own the full monthly and quarterly cycle for your assigned entities 

•      Serve as a reliable, self-sufficient contributor on the corporate team 

•      Identify and drive at least one process or automation improvement 

•      Deepen involvement in evolving-business and system project work 
 

THE SKILL SET

•      University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required

•      CPA candidates or pursuant preferred

•      Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally including multi-entity or corporate accounting

•      Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize across multiple competing workstreams

•      Comfortable asking questions and escalating early with proposed solutions

•      Intermediate to advanced level excel skills, comfortable working with large data sets
