$110,000 – $125,000 OTE (Base Salary + Commission)

THE ROLE
A senior client-facing role combining business development, technical scoping, and account management for live event AV productions. You will manage and grow a portfolio of corporate clients while translating their event requirements into technical plans – serving as both the trusted advisor and the production lead on your projects.

THE TASKS
Client Relationship Management & Business Development
  • Managing and growing a portfolio of recurring corporate clients across meetings, conferences, and brand activations
  • Building new client relationships through outbound prospecting, referrals, and industry networking
  • Developing proposals and presenting AV solutions tailored to client event goals and budgets
  • Identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts
  • Maintaining a pipeline of opportunities and tracking sales activity
  • Attending client site visits and venue walkthroughs as required
  • Driving client retention through consistent service quality and relationship building
Technical Scoping & Project Oversight
  • Translating client event requirements into detailed technical AV plans and specifications
  • Quoting projects including equipment, labour, and logistics components
  • Working from floor plans and venue specifications to develop event setups
  • Collaborating with internal production, warehouse, and crew teams on equipment and resource needs
  • Providing creative, solution-oriented approaches to client challenges using AV technology knowledge
  • Ensuring project delivery aligns with client expectations, timelines, and budget
Event Coordination & Execution Support
  • Supporting on-site production during key events as needed
  • Coordinating with crew leads and project managers during event execution
  • Managing last-minute changes and problem-solving during active events
  • Conducting post-event debriefs and gathering client feedback to drive continuous improvement
Internal Collaboration & Reporting
  • Participating in weekly operations and sales meetings
  • Collaborating with fellow account managers and the operations team on resource planning
  • Providing input on labour forecasting and capacity planning for upcoming events
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of sales, quoting, and project management processes

EXPECTATIONS TIMELINE
By Month 1
  • Complete onboarding on company systems, equipment inventory, and service offerings
  • Shadow senior team members on client meetings and active event productions
  • Begin building relationships with assigned recurring accounts
  • Understand quoting processes, vendor relationships, and project workflows
By Month 3
  • Independently manage inherited recurring accounts and deliver consistent client experience
  • Begin quoting and closing new business opportunities
  • Attend client site visits and develop technical scopes with minimal supervision
  • Establish a working pipeline of prospective clients
By Month 6
  • Own full cycle from client acquisition through project delivery and post-event follow-up
  • Actively grow book of business beyond inherited accounts through outbound efforts
  • Build and maintain a $1M+ pipeline of opportunities
  • Provide strategic input on sales priorities and market opportunities
By Month 12
  • Manage a $1.5M+ book of business across a diversified client portfolio
  • Be recognized as a trusted advisor by key client accounts
  • Contribute to mentoring newer team members on technical and sales processes
  • Position for senior account management or team leadership responsibilities
THE SKILL SET
  • 3–5 years of experience in account management or sales within the AV, live events, or entertainment production industry
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a book of business with at least $1M in annual revenue
  • Strong technical knowledge of AV equipment and live event production (audio, video, lighting, LED)
  • Ability to translate client requirements into technical project plans and accurate quotes
  • Proven track record of client retention and new business development
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with both clients and internal teams
  • Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle
