THE ROLE
An experienced accounting professional who will manage a diverse portfolio of client engagements, supervise staff accountants, and deliver high-quality compilation, review, and tax services while contributing to the firm's growth and development.

THE TASKS
Client File Management & Technical Work
  • Manage portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients across various industries
  • Prepare and review compilation engagements and corporate tax returns
  • Provide tax planning and advisory services for small to medium-sized businesses and professional corporations
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Handle complex technical accounting and tax issues with appropriate partner consultation
  • Coordinate year-end processes and deadline management for assigned client base
Team Supervision & Development
  • Supervise and review work of staff accountants and senior accountants
  • Provide on-the-job training and technical guidance to junior team members
  • Delegate work effectively and monitor progress on client engagements
  • Conduct file reviews to ensure quality control standards are met
  • Participate in performance feedback discussions with team members
Practice Development
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication
  • Identify opportunities for additional services within existing client base
  • Assist with business development activities and new client onboarding
  • Contribute to firm initiatives around process improvement and standardization
  • Support partners with special projects and firm-wide initiatives

THE EXPECTATIONS TIMELINE
By Month 1
  • Understand firm processes, systems, and technical standards
  • Build relationships with team members and key clients
  • Review assigned client files and engagement history
  • Familiarize yourself with firm's service offerings and approach
By Month 3
  • Independently manage assigned client portfolio
  • Establish effective working relationships with clients
  • Demonstrate proficiency with firm's workflow and software systems
  • Begin providing guidance to junior staff members
  • Identify initial process improvement opportunities
By Month 6
  • Successfully complete busy season with your client portfolio
  • Develop strong supervisory skills and team collaboration
  • Contribute ideas for practice development and efficiency improvements
  • Build reputation for technical competence and client service
  • Demonstrate readiness for increased responsibilities
By Month 12
  • Manage full client lifecycle from planning through completion
  • Mentor at least one staff or senior accountant effectively
  • Contribute to at least one firm-wide initiative or improvement project
  • Establish track record of quality work and client satisfaction
  • Position yourself for advancement to senior leadership roles

THE SKILL SET
  • CPA designation with minimum 5-7 years of public accounting experience
  • Strong technical skills in compilation, review, and corporate/personal taxation
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with emerging leadership capabilities
  • Proficiency with accounting software and technology platforms
