THE ROLE   
A strategic finance leader managing comprehensive financial operations across corporate accounting, project accounting, and financial systems while leading a high-performing team.

THE TASKS

Corporate & Project Accounting    

  • Direct month-end and year-end close processes ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting aligned with GAAP
  • Oversee full payroll cycle including processing, remittances, reconciliations, and year-end reporting
  • Collaborate with external accountants and auditors for year-end closing and financial statement review
  • Prepare and analyze key financial statements for management review and external partner reporting
  • Oversee tax filing preparation and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures with robust internal controls

FP&A & Treasury Management

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting activities ensuring alignment with company goals and financial sustainability
  • Analyze company performance providing variance analysis and financial modeling to identify opportunities and risks
  • Monitor and refine reporting tools and processes related to cash flow and liquidity through integrated financial systems
  • Support planning and analysis of cash requirements for payroll, AP/AR, and project funding cycles
  • Develop comprehensive financial insights connecting project-level and corporate-level performance

Leadership & Strategy

  • Manage daily operations across Corporate Accounting, Project Accounting, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Payroll, and Sales Administration
  • Provide leadership to finance and accounting team, fostering culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with HR to conduct performance evaluations and regular team engagement meetings
  • Contribute to strategic planning and long-term financial initiatives through insights and financial analysis

Financial Systems & Technology

  • Manage financial systems including Acumatica, Procore, Blackline, and Salesforce ensuring optimization and integration
  • Assess and improve workflows through automation to enhance efficiency in AP/AR, project costing, payroll, and reporting

EXPECTATIONS TIMELINE   
By Month 1   
  • Build trust with finance, payroll, sales admin, and accounting staff while assessing team skills, gaps, and structure
  • Get hands-on with Acumatica, Procore, Blackline, and Salesforce to evaluate system integration and reporting reliability
  • Take ownership of ongoing month-end close, payroll, and AP/AR processes ensuring continuity in reporting
  • Build trust with the SVP through clear, timely communication and early accountability for assigned responsibilities

By Month 3

  • Identify and propose key process improvements in workflows, automation, or internal controls to boost accuracy and efficiency
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, aligning with department heads and SVP expectations
  • Deliver variance analysis and produce actionable insights from financial data while collaborating with Sales Admin to resolve billing or commission reporting gaps
  • Master company structures and understand relationships between corporations, including differences between corporate and project accounting and how money flows in both areas

By Month 6

  • Own financial reporting and controls, fully leading close processes and reporting cycles including dashboards and key statements
  • Strengthen team performance through completed evaluations, development plans, and coaching initiatives
  • Lead strategic financial analysis supporting long-term company planning while successfully managing external audit processes and regulatory compliance
  • Implement specific improvements in financial systems that align with growth and scalability goalS

By Month 12

  • Develop comprehensive insights into company performance, connecting project-level and corporate-level operations at a high level
  • Build strong rapport with leadership team members and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Deliver organized, concise financial information and analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Successfully complete year-end close processes and coordinated external audit

THE SKILL SET   
  • Post undergraduate designation required: CPA, MBA or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience with mentorship responsibilities
  • Strong system skills, including Excel
