THE ROLE
A critical individual contributor role who will be responsible for supporting the funding and disbursement process for commercial loans, analyzing loan documentation, ensuring funding conditions are met, and providing operational and analytical support to the loan funding team.

THE TASKS
Loan Documentation & Analysis
  • Analyze commercial loan files to ensure all conditions precedent to funding are fulfilled
  • Validate and track key documentation including term sheets, loan agreements, and security documents
  • Review legal, financial, insurance, and compliance requirements for accuracy
  • Prepare introductory letters to borrowers with checklists and due diligence documents
Funding Operations & Coordination
  • Support end-to-end funding process including preparation of disbursement schedules and funding memos
  • Prepare mortgage loan closing statements and balance closing numbers
  • Requisition funds and arrange funding wires for loan disbursement
  • Perform post-funding reconciliation and support loan boarding into core systems
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Monitor regulatory compliance including anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-client (KYC) protocols
  • Engage service providers to complete property and legal due diligence
Process Improvement & Support
  • Assist with development and refinement of funding procedures and internal controls

EXPECTATIONS TIMELINE
By Month 1
  • Master core documentation and process requirements
  • Understand internal systems and operational workflows
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and external partners
By Month 3
  • Independently manage file analysis and ensure all requirements are met
  • Coordinate operational activities including scheduling and transaction coordination
  • Demonstrate proficiency in regulatory and compliance protocols
By Month 6
  • Lead complete process management for assigned loan files
  • Handle complex scenarios and specialized transactions independently
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements and operational enhancements
By Month 12
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives and process automation
  • Serve as subject matter expert for complex funding scenarios
  • Contribute to strategic planning for funding operations optimization
THE SKILL SET
  • College or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Law or a related field.
  • Previous experience in commercial loan operations, loan servicing, funding, or financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (AML, FINTRAC, OSFI, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) desirable.
